Google Ads vs. Facebook Ads – Which is Better?

Two of the most useful and popular advertising tools are Google Ads and Facebook Ads. But which one do you need to run your real estate advertisement campaign? To help you with the answer, today, I’m discussing these two platforms along with their pros and cons.

Google Ads is definitely the more popular of these two and for good reasons.
Google has been the go-to search engine for more than 20 years and it has an unchallenged reputation of being the best at what it does. For these reasons and many more, Google Ads are preferred by big and small businesses alike. And that is the reason why Google Ads are expensive.

When you are advertising on Google, you are bidding on keywords. Since big and small companies both in a specific niche compete for the same keywords, it ends up being who can pay more. This is the reason why Google Ads are more expensive. But the overall cost depends on your budget and what keywords you use.

A big advantage of Google Ads is it can target the exact people you have in mind. Google shows the ads to people who search the same keyword you bid on. So, when your ads are showing up on someone’s search, it means that person is the exact customer or lead you are looking for as that person searched what you are selling or offering. For this super-specific targeting, Google Ads is preferred for obtaining leads.

Facebook Ads

Let’s move from the biggest search engine to the biggest and most popular social media platform, Facebook.

Facebook has a clear-cut advertising model. Target a demographic or a location or a group of people with similar interests and show them your ad.

FB ads are for specific demographics and for people with similar interests. Using Facebook, you can target a broader audience. For example, if you want, you can show your ad to everyone in your city who is interested in real estate. Unlike Google, it reaches people who share the same interest even if they are not actively looking for it. Besides, it is much cheaper compared to Google Ads.

Besides, it is comparatively easier to set up. All you need to do is choose the post you want to promote or create a new post and select the audience you want to see it. You can choose the audience based on their location, gender, age or interests.

The best practice would be to use them both together.

If your target is to drive traffic to your website and acquire leads, Google Ads is the option to use. It targets specific people who are actively looking for you or something you are offering. It has a higher CTR and you get a better return on investment with Google Ads. All these bundled with Google’s much better analytics clearly show why it is not something you can ignore when running an ad campaign.

As for Facebook Ads, it is particularly useful if you are looking to reach more people and get people to know you. Facebook’s comparatively cheaper and broader targeting allows you to reach more people and build a reputation, getting more leads in the process. Clearly, for the best results, both Google Ads and Facebook Ads should be used together.
