The first quarter of 2018 is past, and we got to see some specific design trends across the webpages. And it’s for sure that we haven’t seen the end of them.
So, here are some of the trending digital designs that won’t be leaving the virtual sphere this year.
Bold Typography and Elements
Bold typography was the signature of 2017’s designs and will continue being the same for 2018. The text will continue to leave the text box and spread throughout the webpages.
Although this might seem like letter and words floating around the screen, actually they are there for interacting, nothing more.
Not only the typography, you’ll see charts, photos, and vectors overlaid with one another which creates a beautiful and bold contrast.
Duo-Tone& Double Exposure
Although Spotify is not the first one to ignite this trend, they are certainly the one who comes to your mind when you see a two-color pallet that brings out an aesthetic unity to the images.
Contrast is the defining element for duo-tone exposure and double exposure, but the contrast doesn’t need to be loud. Unlike Spotify, this contrast of double color can be subtle and sophisticated.
Retro-Modern Illustration
Since the beginning of the Internet, we have seen the evolution of generic imagery. Starting from the clip arts to the digital spaces, till this day we demand more visual representations. And that’s why these Retro-Modern Illustrations are popular.
It features clean lines and the changeable color palettes on the flat design with subtle shadows as well as some elements of story-telling. These plain illustrations are whimsical and focused, but vibrant enough to draw your attention.
Beautiful Background Patterns
Tiled background has been a huge influence in the early days of blogging. But they didn’t stick around for much longer until their recent emergence recently.
These creatively designed background patterns are now beginning to emerge in online profiles and creative sites.
Sometimes, the background pattern is loud and stands out from the background color. But often the designs and patterns get a secret look which mixes with the background color, making a mild contrast.
Bright Gradient
The gradients took over the digital platform in the early 2017 and are still thriving everywhere. From, logos, Snapchat filters to superhero images, the gradient is used everywhere.
Although gradient is not likely to go away this soon, we might see some changes in its use this year.
Thoughtful Animations
Animations were dormant the last couple of years. But it seems like these creative animations will reemerge again in 2018. Already we have seen some bold uses of animations in webpages and interactive software.
Designers are confident that it has a lot of potentials to rule the web design industry this year. So be prepared to use some amazing animation in your next site. From blinking of a bunny to a bedtime story, you are about to face them all this year.
Split Pages
You may have already noticed some banners on a site where a product is shown across multiple frames of different colors. It’s like splitting the page into two or even more.
Sometimes the webpage itself can be split apart to introduce two different shades of the same background. This draws out the attention even better than a plain background.
These are the trending designs that will rule this year’s digital contents, for sure. There’s no doubt on that. So next time you design a site, make sure you go with these trends.
