Affiliate marketing has been in the game for years.
Even though the popularity of affiliate marketing is increasing every day, the competition is getting tougher too, which is not good for a big portion of the affiliates.
I remember a friend of mine failing miserably due to the overgrowing competition. He had an affiliate site for laptops and tablets. But the competition for the niche was tough and he was “streamlined”. So, his site failed to reach the marks and it showed me how important it is to go over the top to stay in the game. Affiliate marketers need to stand apart from the crowd to be visible to new visitors and potential customers.
Here are 3 effective ways to make affiliate marketing more efficient and not fail like my friend.
1. Get started with an email list
This is not new but many affiliate marketers think of it as an optional way to get more traffic and make more sales. Even though the term “optional” is technically right here, I would like to call it a “delayed inevitable”. If you want to succeed in Affiliate marketing, you will need to email leads, it is inevitable. You can use these leads to make sales to your existing customers or you can introduce your affiliation with the brands to your completely new demographic.
Make sure you include the benefits of buying the products through your site over others in the approaching emails. If possible, throw in a good deal or a coupon code in the email so that visitors at least check your site to use those offers and deals. If you are offering something great, they might even become your regular customer.
And as for gathering the leads, there are a few dozen ways to collect these leads. Most popularly, you can ask for emails on the site in exchange for subscription offers or newsletters. You can also buy your leads from a relevant industry if you don’t want to spend your time and effort to find organic leads.
2. Remove distracting content from the page
This is a tip for websites in general.
If you want your visitors to concentrate on the content to make a purchase, you need to ensure he is only seeing relevant info on the page.
Don’t use flashy banners or go over the top on the menu bar for things like about or contact us pages. Also, don’t put unnecessary links on the sales page if you don’t want your customers to redirect to a blog page from the product sale page.
3. Use videos to explain & promote your products
This is a new trend but affiliate marketers are on board with it already, especially the marketers who work in the tech world.
Affiliate marketers who work with different phone brands or gadgets are reviewing them and showing them on their site and YouTube. This way, people who don’t like to read lengthy reviews can learn about the product from a video. Apart from tech affiliates, almost all other affiliates namely software affiliates, furniture affiliates, tool affiliates, etc. are on board with this type of video marketing. And if you want to stand out of the horde, you should also get on board with this idea.
